Can a 341 read up to 5.00D?

X-Rite updated the 341 in January of 1996. The electronics were improved. Beginning with serial number 9794, all X-Rite 341's can read a density range from 0.00D to 5.00D. Older units may be updated if they are of the vintage that has a power switch on the bottom. For current pricing please contact an X-Rite Service Agent.

What's involved...

• This upgrade is a normal part of a flat-rate repair.

• This upgrade allows the customer to read densities up to 5.0 density. The unit may read higher than 5.0D, but we do not guarantee the accuracy above 5.0D.

• To read densities this high, the customer must have the 3mm aperture installed. This is the larger of the two that we send with a 341.

• If the customer needs to read films higher than 5.0D, refer them to the 361T Densitometer.

• Once a unit has been upgraded for 5.0D capability the lamp stays on for a longer interval which means that the battery charge will not last for as many readings
