The AxF Plugins for V-Ray add support for X-Rite’s Appearance eXchange File (AxF) format in Chaosgroup’s V-Ray for 3ds Max and V-Ray for Maya products.
After installation there will be a new material type called “Axf Material” in the Hypershade module of Autodesk Maya under the V-Ray material selection. In some cases you might need to activate loading the plugin manually using Maya’s Plug-in Manager (menu ‘Windows/Settings Preferences’). Additionally, there will be also a new 2D Texture type called “Axf Texture” which allows to directly access an AxF texture layer.
In Autodesk 3ds Max a new material type called “AxFMaterial” is created in the material editor under the V-Ray material selection. There is also a new map type “AxFTexture” available under the V-Ray map selection.
The PlugIns supports all AxF versions up to AxF v1.9. It supports all AxF v1.9 representation types and extensions including BTF, CPA2, (EP)-SVBRDF, and VOLUMETRIC.

History Notes
Version 1.4.1 fixes an issue with volumetric representations that could lead to wrong results for complex geometries.
Version 1.5.0 adds support for V-Ray 6 and fixes a few minor bugs.
